Session 12 — The Inn at Crossroads

Rain followed them out of Whisperwood. Kael took a cultist's black-fletched arrow through the left arm — Bleed 2, −10 penalty. Seris spent 8 PP from Holy Arms to close the worst of it before the lanterns of the inn.

The innkeep, Harda Venn, pretended not to notice the blood. She did notice the wrapped stone on Morwen's hip. When it came out at the table, the hearth fire leaned toward it.

Bramble lifted a brass token from a hooded drinker in the corner — an eight-pointed star, edges charred. The drinker was gone before the next round of ale.

They sleep upstairs tonight. The tablet is under Seris's shield. Something in the cellar answers it when no one is listening.
